It’s a Great Prop

My bike is a great conversation starter. I’ve had offers of places to stay because of the bikes. Children love the butterflies on the saddle bag, I’ve even had someone guess correctly my star sign based on the butterflies. Today because I arrived at my hostel by bike I received a 15% discount on the room rate. Admittedly that morning I’d caught the bus to my destination and cycled all of 5mins to the hostel 🤣🤣🤣.

I’ve enjoyed Oregon but needed to get out as it was getting damper, wetter and cooler so I decided to catch a couple of buses from Coos Bay in Oregon to Arcata, a nice seaside town.

I’m staying in a really original hostel

Tomorrow I’ll catch the bus again to Bendow and I’ll actually then Cycle 20 miles to the nearest campground. After that I’ll actually cycle (because there are no more buses that go that route 😂) to Mill Valley where I’ll catch up with some friends.

  1. Great to read about your cycling touring/ bus journeys! I’m kidding it’s lovely to know how kind and interested folk are about your rolling into town 😉
