Christchurch to Auckland

I spent a few more days with the Mercy Sisters in Christchurch before flying up to Auckland.

The picture above is Christchurch’s Anglican Cathedral which suffered in the earthquake of 2010. Christchurch is still struggling after the earthquake, a lot of people and businesses have moved out. The city hasn’t been rebuilt. There is a lot of disagreement about what should be done and how things should be rebuilt and renovated.

One of the sisters is known as the Tall Sister

We spent the day in Akaroa which has a French influence. And then Laumanu – the tall sister took me to Victoria Park which has amazing views of Christchurch and is also the scene of a famous murder in the 1950s, which was the real reason why Laumanu took me to the park.

After a few days in Christchurch. I flew to Auckland where I met Sam. I know Sam from Leicester. She left the UK 4 years ago.

My next ten days will be spent meditating just North of Auckland.
