Today Canada celebrated it’s 150th birthday. So Jasper had a party which included a pancake breakfast for everyone, a flag raising ceremony with Birthday cake, entertainment in the park and a firework display to end the night. I did find it funny to find out that Canada is only 150 years old, I’m sure that the country has been here for more than 150 years surely???
Today is my last day with access to wifi and supermarkets until 29th July. So from tomorrow we’ll be staying at rustic campgrounds and hostels i.e. no running water or electricity. Luckily I have my merino wool clothes so I’ll be as fresh as a daisy 😂🌼. It also means that we will have to carry 4 weeks worth of food with us yikes!! I’m not travelling light as it is, 4 weeks of food is going to really slow me down to a snails pace. We’ll be cycling to Banff down the Icefield Parkway.
Enjoy the journey… do some impromptu fishing for protein and local berries for desert 😊👍

It’s just a few days of wifi. It’s going well. 9 days in the wilderness, 17 more days until I get a shower 😂😂

Eeew, can’t imagine how bad you must pong! Are you camping then? What about food, are you cooking by camp fire 🏕

No of course I don’t pong. I can’t believe that you would think that 🤣🤣🤣🤣. We’re staying in hostels and campsites ⛺️ but they are ‘rustic’. We’re having to carry our food with us, there are no shops on the way, so carrying 3 weeks worth of food. This where I need Neil’s rations 😂. It’s all dried veg and pulses. But no I definitely don’t stink 😂😂😂😂

Hope being off grid is not too grim Susan. Watch out for those bears – hang your food in trees! The guild wheel is as far off the beaten track as I get nowadays.
Stay safe & have fun 😬

Just over two more weeks until I can shower. We’re having to carry all of our food with us, we’re not foraging for food, definitely something not to do in Bear 🐻 country. The campsites have lockers in which you can put your food in!!

Are there other people about out there in the wilderness? Should’ve stocked up with Neal’s rations before you left, he’s always bringing them home 💂. You’re certainly having the adventure of a lifetime! Have emailed you by the way 👍☺. Look forward to hearing from again you soon

It is hot and sticky here now but a summer storm brewing. Oh yeah, don’t eat yellow snow! Ha ha! Much love, Ruth x
